A Family Firm

We are a small family business, which has grown over the last 38 years to have two “sides” from this site. A craft pottery (Pilling Pottery) which at it’s peak production, manufactured over one thousand hand thrown stoneware pieces per day. This side of our business also sub-contracts to other potteries, casting in white earthenware, porcelain and china.our delivery service is excellent The other side to our business manufactures a range of pottery equipment, kilns (up to 100+ ft3 gas or electric), wheels etc, to supply other craft potters, industries and hobbyists.

It is this wealth experience that now places us in an ideal position to advise our customers realistically. Our production is flexible enough to custom build to individual requirements (e.g. narrow doorways, specific industrial loads, etc.) Our kilns, are designed and built entirely by us here at Pilling, using the best materials from the international insulation market, British steel and whenever possible, other British materials.

Our delivery service is second to none, nationwide and specialised, carried out by our experienced staff. Our definition of delivery is the installation and All our kilns will be ready to fire upon our exit from the delivery locationpostioning of the kiln, wiring (where suitable supply and isolation device is available), and a full demonstration of the kiln and kiln controls, thus providing you with a full personal service. In other words, your kiln will be ready to fire upon our exit.

We have, over the last twenty years, developed a strong alliance with other manufacturers and specialists, enabling us all to supply a wide range of materials, equipment and specialist advice, all of course supplied with a modern day rarity of ‘the personal touch’.

We offer a ‘helpline’ to all of our customers, which we find is very much appreciated.

We also produce kilns and ovens for glass work, enamelling, metal heat treatment, lost wax casting, manufacture of false teeth, laboratory use etc... Always supplying to our customer specifiaction and requirements.

Generally a kiln is a compromise between budget, access, power availability and your desired size, not always in that order. You will be offered a choice of temperature controllers to suit your budget and requirements.
